EarlyLane started with a conversation. Someone close to us has a 9-year-old who was put on an NHS waiting list for an autism assessment. The referral went in. The wait began.
What followed was something too many families know all too well. No guidance. No timeline. No support. Just a letter and a number to call if things got critical. School struggles intensified. Appointments with teachers became battles. The question "am I doing enough?" became a constant companion.
We looked for a platform to help families in that position — something to help them understand what was happening, build evidence, fight for school support, and connect with others who got it.
It didn't exist.
So we started building it.
"The waiting list is the beginning — not a dead end. Every observation logged, every letter sent, every conversation had during that wait is building something real. We exist to help families build it."
EarlyLane is early. We're honest about that. But the need is real, the problem is urgent, and 236,000 families are on waiting lists right now in England alone — with that number growing every year.
We're building this with families, not just for them. If you're on a waiting list and want to shape what EarlyLane becomes, we genuinely want to hear from you. Get in touch.
We're looking for families to help us build this right from the start.
